Order of Polonia Restituta for Prof. Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka

Congratulations to Prof. Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka, visiting professor at PCMA UW, on receiving the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. She was honoured for developing Polish-Cypriot scientific cooperation in the field of archaeology and for creating a positive image of Poland in the world. The distinctions were awarded to a group of Polish archaeologists by the President of Poland.   

Since 2020, Prof. Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka has been a visiting professor at the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw (PCMA UW). Since the beginning of her academic career, she has been associated with the Jagiellonian University (JU) in Krakow, where she heads the Department of Classical Archaeology. From 2011 to 2020 she conducted research in Nea Paphos in Cyprus as part of the JU Paphos Agora Project, and in 2019 she took over the management of the PCMA UW expedition in Nea Paphos.

She is currently the principal investigator in the project “MA-P Maloutena and Agora in the urban plan of Paphos: Modeling the urban landscape of the Hellenistic and Roman capital of Cyprus”, a consortium of JU (project leader), PCMA UW and Warsaw University of Technology.
