The Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology acts in partnership with the government Antiquities Services of countries in which its projects are based. In Egypt and Sudan, the PCMA acts through its field branches: the PCMA Research Center in Cairo (established in 1959) and the Polish Archaeological Unit in Khartoum (established in 2018).
