After a one-year break, we invite you yet again to take part in the archaeological conference Poles in the Near East. Its fifth edition is planned to take place online on 9–11 June, 2021.
The conference is organized by the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw and the Chair of the Archaeology of Orient, Faculty of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for the exchange of information on archaeological research and conservation work carried out with the participation of Polish researchers and institutions in the broadly-defined Near East: from the eastern Mediterranean to Central Asia. The submitted presentations should be related to the archaeology of the above-mentioned areas in a wide time frame, from prehistory to the late Middle Ages.
Due to the epidemic situation, the 2020 conference had to be canceled. To avoid a repetition of this situation we plan this year’s edition from the start in a remote form. The advantage of this form is the possibility of extending the invitation to participate in the conference – both as speakers and as listeners – to foreign scholars co-operating with Polish expeditions and those working in related fields.
