The Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, University of Warsaw announces a call for applications for MA students for the position of a scholarship holder in the research project Household biographies during the decline of state structures. A study of daily life in the houses of the lower city of Argishtikhinili during the Late and Post-Urartian periods (7th–6th century BCE)”.
The project, led by Dr. Mateusz Iskra, focuses on the study of everyday life of the inhabitants of the lower town of Argishtikhinili in Armenia during the decline of the Kingdom of Urartu and the social and political transformations that followed. The research includes the analysis of archaeological materials and geological data, which will help to better understand the functioning of households during this period.
The project is seeking one student scholarship holder who will participate in both laboratory analyses and fieldwork conducted in Armenia. The selected candidate will be responsible, among other tasks, for petrographic analysis of thin sections of archaeological deposits and pottery, conducting SEM-EDS analyses of thin sections, and participating in field research in Armenia, including geological sampling.
The project is funded by the National Science Centre under the Sonata 20 grant scheme.
