On April 18th, the International Day for Monuments and Sites, also recognized as World Heritage Day, is being celebrated. To mark this occasion, the colleagues at the UNESCO World Heritage site in Nea Paphos (Cyprus) have organized activities for students from a local primary school.
Under the supervision of members of the expedition led by Professor Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka, the children engaged in hands-on practice sessions where they learned about archaeological excavations and the documentation of artifacts. Additionally, they explored the mosaics at the House of Dionysus, acquiring the skills to recognize images of Greek deities and closely examining the intricate details of the depictions.
These activities were overseen by Dr. Tomomi Fushiya, a specialist in collaborative archaeology from the PCMA UW who co-organized the event with one of the school teachers and a representative of the Ministry of Education.
