A seminar by the Archaeo-Oriental Studies Research Group at the University of Warsaw will host a presentation by Dr Marta Żuchowska (Faculty of Archaeology) and Dr Ewa Paśnik-Tułowiecka (Faculty of Oriental Studies) entitled: “Preliminary study on meditation caves of Upper Mustang”.
Abstract: “The presentation was produced as part of a grant awarded by Archaeo-Oriental Study Group for the project ‘Buddhist
meditation caves in the Chhoser region, Upper Mustang, Nepal’, which involves an interdisciplinary analysis of cultural relics of the Tibetan people who inhabited the area of Upper Mustang (Nepal) since the end of the 1st millennium BC. The subject of the research are unique Buddhist cave complexes located in the Chhoser region.
The main aim of the presentation is to deliver preliminary descriptions and analyses of photographic documentation from field research conducted in 2014 by Dr Marta Żuchowska. The preliminary findings will also be complemented by expert comments provided during an international webinar held on 28 February 2022.”
The seminar will be held on Monday, 7th March at 11:30 am CET. Link to the meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89641940858
