The program for the 5th Sudan Studies Research Conference, to be held on September 4th and 5th in Warsaw, has been announced. The conference has a hybrid format. You can register for the online part until August 30th.
One of the organizers of this year’s edition of the conference on the archaeology and ethnography of Sudan is the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw (PCMA UW), while the Durham University Sudan & Egyptology Study Group (DUSEG) is its initiator. The conference received funding from the “Excellent Science” program of the Polish Ministry of Education and Science. It will be hosted by the National Museum in Warsaw.
The presentations have been grouped into eight thematic sessions. On Saturday, September 4th, the sessions Art and traditions, Ceramics, Bioarchaeology, Environment and Remote sensing will be held, while on Sunday, September 5th will feature: Prehistory, Community and heritage, Iconography and architecture, and Ethnography.
