Workshop “Archaeological Landscape in Southeast Arabia”

Workshop titled “Archaeological Landscape in Southeast Arabia: New Perspectives from Recent Fieldwork” was hosted by the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, University of Warsaw.

Participants included members of the Omani-Polish expedition led by Prof. Piotr Bieliński, working in the Qumayrah micro-region of the Hajjar Mountains in northern Oman, as well as Dr. Taichi Kuronuma from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, who lead the project in Bat and co-direct the project in Tanuf regions of north-central Oman. The presentation of results from surface surveys and excavations in different geographical zones sparked discussions on settlement patterns typical of these landscapes and the factors shaping them over various prehistoric periods.
