By ordinance of the Directori the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, University of Warsaw, dated June 18th, 2024, the PCMA UW Research Centre in Khartoum has been named after Mahmoud El-Tayeb. Prof. El-Tayeb was the head of the Research Centre in Khartoum from its establishment in 2018 until his death in 2024.
