Excavations in Oman – information for students

PCMA UW expedition working in Oman invites students to participate in the excavations. The project seeks archaeology students from after the second year of undergraduate studies who have a serious interest in the archaeology of the ancient Near East.

The excavations are taking place at sites located in the Qumayrah Valley, in the Hajjar Mountains of northern Oman. The current project is investigating Bronze Age and Iron Age settlements. More information about the project can be found here: Qumayrah Valley.

The expedition provides airline tickets, visas and covers living expenses on site. Students will be working both in the field and on artifact material and documentation.

Excavation date: early November-mid December (approx. 6 weeks)
