At a concert in Nicosia on 10 May 2022, organized by the Polish Embassy on the occasion of the National Day of the Constitution of the Third of May, a ceremony was held to present awards for the development of Polish-Cypriot scientific cooperation in the field of archaeology and for creating a positive image of Poland in the world. H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Irena Lichnerowicz-Augustyn presented them to Polish archaeologists working in Nea Paphos.
Prof. Ewdoksia Papuci-Władyka, from the Institute of Archaeology of the Jagiellonian University and the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw, head of the PCMA UW Research Centre in Cyprus, received the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. Dr. Henryk Meyza from the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures of the Polish Academy of Sciences, long-time head of the PCMA UW expedition in Nea Paphos, was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, while the Gold Cross of Merit was presented to Dr. Łukasz Miszk from the Jagiellonian University, currently a post-doc at the PCMA UW.
