Lecture in RC Cairo: Tracing the foreign people in Ancient Egyptian society

A guest lecture by Dr Elena Panaite, pursuing a PCMA-IFAO post-doctoral fellowship, was held at the PCMA UW Research Centre in Cairo.

The lecture Tracing the foreign people in Ancient Egyptian society through textual sources accompanied the meeting of the series “Seminar of PCMA scholarship-holders”. Due to the epidemic situation, this event was also only available to guests of the RC.

Elena Panaite presented her current research on the interactions and relations between the ancient Egyptians and their neighbors through textual sources, with a more specific focus on the western populations. Several research leads were examined through a lexical approach, which also aims to better understand the integration of Egyptian society into a wide world of exchanges, including both goods and ideas.

The lecture was held on Thursday, 18th November 2021.
