Due to organizational changes at the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw, carried out on the basis of the new PCMA UW Regulations, the name of the PCMA UW post in the Republic of Sudan has changed.
The previous name: “Polish Archaeological Unit in Khartoum PCMA UW” has been replaced with: “Research Centre in Sudan of the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw”. The management of the Research Centre in Sudan is still in the hands of Prof. Mahmoud El-Tayeb, and its headquarters are in Khartoum and Old Dongola.
