We have received the sad news of the death of Aleksandra Majewska, the retired curator of the Egyptian Collection in the Gallery of Ancient Art at the National Museum in Warsaw.
She collaborated with the Polish Centre for Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw on many occassions and took part in excavations at the Tell Atrib site in Egypt. In 2007, she curated the “70 Years of Polish Archaeology in Egypt” anniversary exhibition at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. She also edited a catalog that accompanied the exhibition.
The funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 6th, 2022 at 1 pm at the church on Rakowiecka st. in Warsaw, followed by a funeral ceremony at the parish cemetery on Cmentarna st. in Pruszków.
