Holders of scholarships and special grants in Egypt and Poland

EGYPT

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland grants scholarships for the academic year to candidates from the field of archaeology and history of the Near East, Egypt and Sudan: doctoral candidates researching their dissertation and senior-year students working on their MA thesis.

A number of short-term scholarships is granted each year to researchers and senior-year students to prepare the documentation of study collections in the field at various sites.

7-month scholarship:
  • Beata Drzewiecka, student (Modern Languages Studies Faculty, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań)
    Research topic: Traditions and customs at Abbasid courts depicted in miniature painting and in written sources (scientific guidance: Dr. Zdzisław Pentek, Professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań)
6-month scholarships:

  • Marta Grzegorek, engineer architect, student (Faculty of Architecture, University of Technology in Warsaw)
    Research topic: Background research for designing an archaeological park at the site of Marina el-Alamein in Egypt (scientific guidance: Dr. Rafał Czerner, Professor at the Wrocław University of Technology)
