In 2017, to commemorate 80 years of Polish-French cooperation in archaeology, the Institut français d’archéologie orientale (IFAO) and the Research Centre of the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology at the University of Warsaw (PCMA UW) established a joint postdoctoral fellowship based in Cairo. The fellowship lasts for 16 months and offers postdoctoral scholars the unique opportunity to conduct advanced research in Egypt.
As part of the fellowship, the fellow is tasked with organizing a scientific conference centered on a topic of their choosing within their field of study. This event serves as a platform to present their research findings and encourage scholarly exchange among experts in the field. Additionally, the fellow is responsible for editing a volume of conference proceedings.
