Since 2017 ongoing “Jebel al- Ṣalaylī: the complex archaeological site”: self-funding project, sponsored by Paul Yule of Heidelberg University. Survey and mapping of the multi-period and multi-function al- Ṣalaylī site; survey of EIA and LIA sites in al-Šarqiyyah province, Oman.

2014-2016 “Mifsas Baḥri, the Late Aksumite church”. Ethio-German project in Southern Tigray, funded by German Research Council (DFG grant YU 20/8-1). Excavation of Late Aksumite site, analysis of ceramic and survey of Lake Ḥashenge area, tutoring of MA students of Mekelle University.

2011-2014 “Eastern Tigray Archaeological Project (ETAP) at the pre-Aksumite site of Mezber”, directed by Catherine D’Andrea, Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, Canada). Study of Mezber pottery from 2011 to 2013. Ethnoarchaeological research in Adigrat and Mezber environs from 2013 to 2014 seasons, during the excavation at Ona Adì archaeological site.
