An upcoming Archaeo-Oriental Seminar will take place on April 15th with a lecture by Prof. Miroslav Bárta (the Czech Institute of Egyptology, Charles University) who will present a paper titled “The Latest Research of Necropolises in North Sakkara”.
Abstract: “The lecture will provide historical background for the history of the Old Kingdom, a time renowned for its architectural and artistic achievements. This era, which is a cornerstone in the rich tapestry of Egyptian history, will be illuminated through the recent findings by the Czech Institute of Egyptology at the North Saqqara necropolis. The discoveries there have shed new light on the period, particularly through the excavation of the famous tombs of Ptahshepses, Kaiemheset, and Nymaatra. Attendees of the talk can expect a comprehensive historical context, enriched by the latest archaeological evidence from one of Egypt’s most important sites.”
The seminar will be held on Monday, April 15th at 5 pm on the Zoom platform.
