The PCMA Scholarship Committee has announced additional recruitment for the PCMA Scholarship (Stypendium CAŚ). Those willing to spend one or several months in Egypt between April and the end of September 2021 can submit their application by March 19th.
The scholarships have been awarded on the recommendation of PCMA UW since the 1990s, and their funding is provided by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
For whom:
- for students or graduates of Polish universities wishing to conduct research in Egypt on the archaeology or history of Egypt and/or neighboring areas.
What the PCMA Scholarship offers:
- possibility of scientific development, participation in seminars, using the book collection;
- possibility of visiting museum collections and archaeological sites;
- scholarship holders can participate in the work of archaeological expeditions in Egypt (subject to obtaining the necessary consents prior to the start of the stay).
In 2020/2021, the amount of the scholarship is PLN 2,000 per month. The PCMA UW Research Station in Cairo provides scholarship holders with free accommodation, as well as the possibility of using its premises, including the reading room and office equipment. Its employees help with official paperwork and provide support in administrative matters.
