The Department of Near Eastern Studies is engaged with scientific research based on the results of fieldwork, laboratory and archival-library studies in the field of archaeology, history, conservation and related sciences concerning the areas of cultures and civilizations developing in the Levant, the Tigris and Euphrates basins, the Caucasus, the Iranian Highlands, and the Arabian Peninsula.
